Jeffrey S. Bernard
Mr. Jeffrey S. Bernard received his undergraduate degree (May, 1996) in Biology (cum laude) and a minor in Chemistry from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. Mr. Bernard received his Juris Doctor degree (May, 1999) from Albany Law School in Albany, New York. From 2000 through 2006, Mr. Bernard worked in private practice as an associate with Kilpatrick Stockton, LLP, and as a partner with Miller & Bernard, PLLC, both located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In private practice, Mr Bernard focused on patent application preparation and prosecution as well as opinion work in the telecommunications, medical device, fiber optic networks and general mechanical arts. In early 2006, Mr. Bernard worked as a patent attorney with Corning Cable Systems, LLC, in Hickory, North Carolina, where he was responsible for the management of fiber-to-the-home, fiber optic connectors and splice equipment patent portfolios. Mr. Bernard joined the Adams Intellectual Property Law firm in Charlotte, North Carolina, in September of 2007 and continues to concentrate his practice in the areas of patent application preparation and prosecution as well as opinion work and client counseling.
